Full-time Intensive English language programs
(full-time study, F-1 visa students are eligible for this class.)

 

To qualify for an F-1 Visa and obtain an I-20 form, students must enroll in one of these programs, which combine all aspects of learning English.  They build strong grammar and vocabulary skills, while giving students the opportunity to practice these skills through conversation in a dynamic classroom environment.   Each level (session) lasts 6 weeks, five days a week (total twenty hours per week), and is ideal for an F-1 Visa student. Although these 6-week sessions begin according to a schedule, students may join a class from any Monday.

8 levels of Intensive English classes

 

This full-time program with 8 proficiency levels of instruction from beginning to advanced focuses on preparation in all language skill areas including grammar, reading, comprehension, and speaking. The program is designed to help students communicate effectively in English at work, school, or in any social setting. The Intensive English program is a combination of a 3 days a week Focus on Grammar program and 2 days a week Focus on Conversation program.
(Intensive English Program 5 days a week = Focus on Grammar 3 days a week + Focus on Conversation 2 days a week).
The cost for one session is $540 (for students applying from abroad the first session is $840).


TOEFL Preparation class (subject to availability)
(full-time study, F-1 visa students are eligible for this class)

This full-time program is 5 days a week, and it focuses on preparation for Test of English as a Foreign Language and further study in American colleges and universities. The cost for one session is $540 (for students applying from abroad the first session is $840).


Business English class (subject to availability)
(full-time study, F-1 visa students are eligible for this class)

 

This full-time class is 5 days a week, and it focuses on English language skills in the business workplace, particularly in such areas as marketing, advertising, negotiations, corporate meetings, abbreviations, acronyms, and shortcuts. The cost per one 6-week session is $540 (for students applying from abroad the first session is $840).

 

 

Part-time Language Programs
(F-1 visa students are NOT eligible for these programs)

Focus on Grammar Program
(part-time study, F-1 visa students are not eligible to take this program by itself)
This part-time program lasts 6 weeks, consists of 3 days a week study, and it focuses on grammar and reading language skills. Though it is a part of The Intensive English program, non-F-1 visa students may take this program separately. The cost per one 6 week session is $325.


Focus on Conversation Program
(part-time study, F-1 visa students are not eligible to take this program by itself)
This part-time program lasts 6 weeks, consists of 2 days a week study, and it focuses on listening comprehension and speaking language skills. Though it is a part of The Intensive English program, non-F-1 visa students may take this program separately. The cost per one 6 week session is $260.


Advanced Reading and Writing

120hours 5 days a week (Monday-Friday)

This program is designed to master the reading and writing skills, enhance critical thinking, and improve academic skills such as inference, synthesizing, note taking and test taking.

College Preparation Course

72 hours 3 days a week (Monday-Wednesday)

This program is designed to improve listening and speaking skills using materials based on academic content. Students explore real world issues, discuss academic topics and study thematic materials.

Students will activate prior knowledge , interact in pair work, and small group work, improve critical thinking skills.

Academic Writing

48 hours 2 days a week (Thursday, Friday)

This program will improve writing skills, prepare students for effective academic essay writing and term papers.

American Idioms

24 hours 1 day a week (Friday)

This program focuses on most popular American Idioms used in everyday life.

Accent reduction.

24 hours 1 day a week (Thursday)

This course is focused on teaching students to create the sounds of Standard American English  and give greater confidence in communication skills with native speakers of English. Designed to reduce foreign accent.

Movie Club

48 hours 2 days a week (Thursday, Friday)

This program focuses on developing student’s ability to understand and discuss the modern American movies. The course designed to practice  listening and speaking skills, vocabulary and idioms are introduced


Reading about New York City

120hours 5 days a week (Monday-Friday)

This full time program  focuses on numerous topics related to life in New York City.

All about the U.S.A.

72 hours 3 days a week (Monday-Wednesday)

This program  will introduce students to typically people, places and things, events, food and phenomena, inspire cross-cultural exchange.
