5 levels of Intensive English classes

Beginner Grammar (Part A & Part B) + Beginner Conversation (Part A & Part B)

  • This twelve-week course is divided into two, six-week sessions.
  • It is designed for beginner-level adult students of diverse cultural backgrounds to provide a foundation in grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
  • It is designed to build confidence in the students’ ability to speak more accurately and fluently about everyday life.
  • Through the beginner-level course, students will:
  1. - have the fundamental grammatical foundation that they will need to communicate effectively at the beginning level in English across all four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  2. - explore vocabulary and grammar through integrated-skills controlled and communicative activities and use them in meaningful contexts.
  3. - be able to participate in many beginner, everyday situations.
  4. - develop their fundamental communicative skills by participating in role-plays and other activities that help to provide and build upon a foundation of conversational abilities in English and build their confidence.
  5. - also regularly participate in individual and group presentations, building their oral presentation skills.

Basic Grammar (Part A & Part B) + Basic Conversation (Part A & Part B)

  • This twelve-week course is divided into two, six-week sessions.
  • It is designed for basic-level adult students of diverse cultural backgrounds to provide and build upon a foundation in grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
  • It is designed to build confidence in the students’ ability to speak more accurately and fluently about everyday life.
  • Through the basic-level course, the students will:
  1. - have the necessary grammatical foundation that they will need to communicate effectively at the basic level, in English, in all four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  2. - be able to participate in many basic, everyday situations.
  3. - build their communicative skills by participating in role-plays and other activities that help to increase their conversational abilities in English and build their confidence.
  4. - regularly participate in individual and group presentations, building their oral presentation skills.

Intermediate Grammar (Part A & Part B) + Intermediate Conversation (Part A & Part B) 

  • This twelve-week course is divided into two, six-week sessions.
  • It is designed for intermediate-level adult students of diverse cultural backgrounds to provide and build upon a foundation in grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
  • It is designed to build confidence in the students’ ability to speak more accurately and fluently about everyday life.
  • Through the intermediate-level course, the students will:
  1. - gain a deeper understanding of slightly more complex sentence structures, grammatical structures, and vocabulary in English
  2. - be able to comprehend and communicate ideas across a wider range of topics in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  3. - continue to develop their intercultural skills, increasing their awareness of cultural issues within the U.S.
  4. - regularly participate in individual and group presentations, building their oral presentation skills.

High Intermediate Grammar (Part A & Part B) + High Intermediate Conversation (Part A & Part B)

  • This twelve-week course is divided into two, six-week sessions.
  • It is designed for high-intermediate-level adult students of diverse cultural backgrounds to further enhance students’ knowledge of grammar and help students build confidence in their ability to speak more accurately and fluently about everyday situations.
  • The students will explore grammar through integrated-skills controlled and communicative activities to use increasingly complex grammar structures in meaningful contexts.
  • Through the high intermediate level course, the students will:
  1. - be able to use more complex sentence structures and vocabulary, across the four language domains, at the high-intermediate level.
  2. - gain increased confidence in their English-language abilities
  3. - gain familiarity with American cultural nuances and communicate ideas, in English, across a broader range of topics.
  4. - improve their listening and speaking skills and continue to broaden their conversational range across a wide variety of topics and themes.
  5. - develop communicative competence on a broader range of topics and be able to use common idiomatic expressions and more advanced sentence structures when conversing.
  6. - develop increased confidence in their communicative skills, conversing with increased fluency and accuracy

Advanced Grammar (Part A & Part B) + Advanced Conversation (Part A & Part B)

  • This twelve-week course is divided into two, six-week sessions.
  • It is designed for advanced-level adult students of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds to provide more thorough grammar practice and build confidence in students’ ability to speak more accurately and fluently about everyday situations.
  • The students will explore vocabulary and grammar through integrated-skills controlled and communicative activities to use advanced grammar structures in meaningful contexts.
  • Through the advanced level course, the students will:
  1. - be able to demonstrate their knowledge of advanced level English grammatical, semantic, and syntactical structures with their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  2. - feel confident when reading, writing, and discussing a wide range of topics using a high level of grammar and sentence structures.
  3. - have emphasized as a secondary goal of this course their academic writing skills to prepare students for more advanced studies in the U.S.
  4. - be able to speak with a high level of fluency and accuracy on a wide variety of familiar and unfamiliar topics.
  5. - be able to converse with fluent English speakers, using culturally appropriate communicative strategies.
  6. - become familiar with academic TOEFL- level vocabulary
  7. - become better prepared to further their studies in English in the U.S. and abroad.

Advanced Reading and Writing
This program is designed to master the reading and writing skills, enhance critical thinking, and improve academic skills such as inference, synthesizing, note taking and test taking.

•    Intensive English Program (5 days a week) = Grammar (3 days a week) + Conversation (2 days a week).
The cost for one session is $590 (for students applying from abroad the first session is $890).
