Marina Bleyer

Master’s degree in Linguistics; She has been working at Bell since 2000. Hobbies: she enjoys traveling. And has been to many different parts of the world, from Alaska to Thailand to Peru. “When I have free time, I try to practice my French (reading French books or watching movies).” Her classes: she teaches Basic English most of the time. When her students come to class, some of them don't even know the alphabet. For Marina, there is nothing more rewarding to see students' progress in reading, writing, grammar, and conversation just a few weeks later.

Hobbies: J.R.R. Tolkien is my favorite author. I love The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings and enjoy reading whatever falls into my lap from Barnes and Noble. Fishing is a time honored past time of mine and I take it very seriously. I play Capoeira with Mestre Carioca's group based in Manhattan. I love to travel and have been to Nepal, Morocco, Gibraltar, Germany, Norway, England, Netherlands, Belgium, St. Croix, Colombia, and Ecuador. I like to draw and write. Reggae music is the beat of my heart and my favorite food by far is sushi. I enjoy working with the students to help improve their English by listening to them, reading stories with them, writing anecdotes, enjoying poetry and understanding idiomatic language. Brandon taught English in South Korea for two years. He has experience working with adults, elementary students, and middle school students. He believes that “those who know nothing of foreign languages know nothing of their own.” He's been working at the Bell Language school since January of 2011, and hopes to give the students of the school the best learning experience they have ever had.

Kristina Gomis
ESL Instructor
Bachelor’s degree from Goddard College-2004. Major in Jungian Psychology, Minor in the Creative Arts Therapies.  Member of ASCAP-The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.  Besides being dedicated to education, Kristina is also a musician who has independently released two albums through her music publishing company.  She also taught breakdancing to grade school children as a means to resolve conflict between students.  She enjoys being of service to her community. Special areas of interest include Sufism, Senegalese history and culture, languages, and homebirth advocacy.  Languages: Spanish, and some Wolof.
